This house is believed
to have been built in the reign of Queen Anne, home of the 'Packet'
ships which plied between Flushing and America. The house retains
many of its original features over it's three stories. The village
is situated on the Penryn River with views over the harbour to Falmouth.
Just ten minutes walk from Kiln beach giving access to the coastal
footpath around Trefusis Headland to Mylor Yacht Harbour which offers
boat hire, launching and mooring facilities. The village itself
has two small shops, two good pubs, and a quayside fish restaurant.
There is also access to Falmouth by frequent foot ferry.
The front door opens
directly into the formal dining room beyond which is the well
equipped fitted pine kitchen/dining
room. (Aga, Electric stove, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer and Microwave).
Stairs lead to the first floor with one king size double and
one
twin bedroom with wash hand basin; also the bathroom with bath,
electric show over, toilet and basin, also a washing machine/dryer.
Stairs lead up to the second
floor drawing room, with television and video. This room is split
on to two levels which enjoys splendid water views. French doors
lead directly onto the sunny patio with garden furniture. A flight
of steep steps leads to the lookout offering commanding
views over the harbour.
There is also a waterside
garden which is found 30 metres from the cottage, with glorious
views of the river, a perfect place to just to relax.
There is one allocated parking space
outside the cottage.
