This Grade II listed thatched cottage
enjoying a beautiful creekside location in the picturesque village
of St. Clement, just two
miles from the Cathedral City of Truro. The small village of
St. Clement is in a conservation area and comprises a cluster
of properties centred around the historic parish church. From
the cottage footpaths meander alongside the river, down stream
to Malpas and the Heron Inn, up stream to village of Tresillian.
At low tide, the river valley echoes with the sound of waders
such as oyster-catchers, curlew and redshanks as they feed on
the exposed mudflats along with herons and egrets are also common
visitors.
The oldest part of this delightful thatched cottage dates back
some 250 years when it was held as part of the Duchy of Cornwall
estates.
The stable door opens into the cottage which has an open plan
living room with an old Cornish range, colour television,
DVD and dining
room separated by the staircase.
The well equipped kitchen, has
an electric stove, microwave, washer/dryer and fridge freezer,
beyond leading
to the back door
is a cloakroom with wash hand basin and toilet
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a small double bedroom with
canopied ceiling, and a twin bedroom with a smugglers window
facing onto
the creek. The shower room,
has a shower cubicle, hand wash basin and toilet. Central heating
throughout
the cottage.
Outside to the front of the cottage is a small terrace overlooking
the creek, with garden furniture it makes an ideal spot for
bird watching, the cottage has no garden.
