The gardens slope up away from the house, although there are a number of level areas of grass and seating taking full advantage of the wonderful creek and country views.

Nearby Mylor Bridge offers a good range of daily shopping facilities, and hairdressers, with an excellent marina and associated facilities at Mylor Harbour under 3 miles to the south.
